This painting has a lot of my favorites. It has movement, contrast, and vivid color. It is also one of the few times I have used black. I created the waves around these two with sponging and swirling layers of glaze. The shoreline in the distance is a very deep purple and the sky is lit with vivid colors of the sunset. Someday I would like to see these amazing animals in nature. —Donald Ryker
