This Toucan is perched on a mossy branch with water flowing beneath him. I love the colors. Blue feet! And the black body has tones of red coming through. It was very fun to paint this cheerful bird. I used purple glaze over a green background to create the flowing water. The Toucan himself is red and yellow. I followed up the red with a few coats of purple glaze. The branch was done with purple background, sponged moss and a small brush to make the bromeliad. What a rich environment for color exists in the tropics. – Donald Ryker
