Two horses keep each other company through their days and nights. Horses are herd animals just like dogs are pack animals. Being together is so important. People need that too. I think that is why we appreciate other people and animals in our lives so much.

I painted this piece with shades of brown. The two horses are in a  different pigment range. Blue seemed perfect for the background. Somehow these two just seem quiet and peaceful. – Donald Ryker
