Look deep into the shadows of this cave. This cub playing in the sun is not alone. His mother is very vigilant so he doesn’t have to be. This piece was an exploration of purple and yellow. It was interesting to develop the deep shadows, the texture of the granite walls and the vibrant yellow of the cub. It hung on my wall for some time before I realized it was complete and needed no more work. — Donald Ryker
