Look at the intensity and determination in every line of this falcon. There is no doubt this bird is descending towards his target with fierce intention. He is not deterred by the shooting flames that cast a red glow from below. I leave it to the viewer to fill in the storyline that would cast any of us into such a hardship.

Under the glazes of red, yellow, orange, green and purple I detailed this falcon in tones of brown. These lights and darks show through the glaze to give him form.

I am inspired by the arts around me and in this particular piece I was influence by watching the challenges and battles in the 2017 Star Wars movie. –Donald Ryker
