Sled Dogs

Large Painting by artist Donald Ryker in textured expressionist impressionist art style with unique impasto glaze technique. Three sled dogs curl up in the snow to stay warm.

I challenged myself to do snow again and it almost became a landscape painting because the snow, the setting sun, the clouds and dark night sky are as present as the sled dogs. It is difficult for me to paint small detailed animals so I settled for a suggestion of the form and coloring.
