A glowing swordfish leaping out of the ocean. Large Painting by artist Donald Ryker in textured expressionist impressionist art style with unique impasto glaze technique.

I chose this image for the challenge of blending the sky and water in shades of blue. I feel it is one of my most successful paintings in this regard. Shading and blending are quite difficult for me. I couldn’t resist adding the bright colors of orange, yellow and purple to show that vibrant life in this fish. What a startling shape he has with the extended fan of his fin and the unique swordfish structure – Donald Ryker
