Tarella Taking a Nap with Merline

Tarella was my first service dog. She loved my cat Merline and they often shared the dog bed.

Merline was an adult when I got Tarella so I used a little artistic license to paint them together with Merline as a kitten. They are both gone now but I will have memories forever.

This is a very textured painting. I used thickener in the many layers of glaze so brush strokes would show even more. You can see all the base colors creating light and shadow if you look through the surface. —Donald Ryker
